Bangkok, Thailand

We spent 3 days in Bangkok, exploring, side seeing and shopping. Luckily we were there during the weekend and managed to buy a full suitcase of gifts and things. Ice creams and fruit juices were cooling us down during the madness of going from shop to shop and alley to alley. The biggest market I’ve seen, including all of the cool decorations I’ve seen and dreamed off. My dream now is to go there with a truck and fully decorate my whole house hehe. Found a super awesome umbrella made of banana leaves, some hand made photo albums and frames, as well as a few clothing updates for summer 2016. The best market ever!

One of the things that made me big impression was Buddha’s statues on the streets, in houses, by shopping malls, hotels, etc., through which they show respect, pray, worship and paying homage to Him. The bigger the place (i.e. mall or hotel), the bigger and costly the representation. This is not only for the owner or people working there, but being on the street is for everyone to come and pay his respect to Buddha. Interestingly enough, Thai and Indian culture has similarities, like the fact that both worship Ganesh and at some places we saw both Buddha and Ganesh statues next to each other.

From the first to the last day in Thailand, I kept thinking how organised this country is. For example at the metro stations there are no bins, because you’re not supposed to have any rubbish to trow out in you. However, the humid 35°C require at least a bottle of water with you during the whole time, or you’re risking to pass out. And what about fruit bags eating on the go? Exactly, rubbish exists and I liked the way they’re trying to manage with it, especially comparing to India where people do the complete opposite.

Conclusion? – Beautiful country, warm people, good food, oto rides, plenty of fruits and incredible hand craft! Looking forward to it!
